Lucknow: A 46-year-old woman died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle in the Saerpur police station area of Lucknow early Friday morning.
According to police officials, information regarding the accident was received at around 5:00 am on May 16, 2026. The incident occurred near the Country Turn close to the local vegetable market under the jurisdiction of Saerpur Police Station when the woman was reportedly crossing the road.
Upon receiving the information, the police team immediately reached the spot and shifted the injured woman to the 100-bed hospital for treatment. However, doctors declared her dead after examination.
Based on information gathered from local residents and family members who reached the scene, the deceased was identified as Khitavun, wife of Noor Mohammad and daughter of late Navi, aged around 46 years. She was originally a resident of Ramkot in Sitapur district and was currently residing near the Meat Market at Chhatha Meel in Lucknow.
Family members informed police that the deceased operated a small paan and tobacco kiosk in the area.
Police officials stated that the body has been sent for post-mortem examination after completion of legal formalities. Efforts are currently underway to identify and trace the unidentified vehicle involved in the accident.
Authorities said further investigation and legal proceedings are being carried out as per protocol, while the law and order situation in the area remains normal.
