Special Training Programme Held for PRV Personnel at DTU Lucknow

Lucknow: A special training programme for PRV personnel was organised at the District Training Unit (DTU) of Lucknow Police Commissionerate on May 16, 2026, with a focus on the effective use of modern policing technology and scientific evidence collection.

During the session, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP-112) provided detailed guidance and operational instructions to PRV personnel regarding the lawful, transparent, and efficient use of advanced technical equipment in day-to-day policing.

The training programme emphasized the role of modern technology in strengthening crime control, maintaining law and order, and delivering prompt and high-quality police services to the public.

Addressing the gathering, the ACP-112 highlighted the importance of scientific collection, preservation, and examination of evidence using Crime Scene Kits. She stated that proper handling and preservation of evidence can significantly strengthen legal action against criminals and improve the quality of investigations.

PRV personnel were also trained in the effective use of PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) cameras and Body Worn Cameras. Officials explained that body-worn cameras help maintain real-time records of police actions, improve transparency, monitor suspicious activities, and ensure quicker response during emergency situations.

The training included practical demonstrations and technical guidance related to the operation, maintenance, and usage of the equipment. Personnel were instructed to use modern technology with responsibility, professionalism, and sensitivity while responding to emergencies.

Officials stressed that the objective of adopting modern technology extends beyond crime control and also aims to strengthen public trust and confidence in the police system through transparent and accountable policing practices.

During the programme, PRV personnel were encouraged to maintain discipline, professionalism, and citizen-friendly conduct while performing their duties using advanced technological tools.

Senior officers, training officials, and a large number of PRV personnel participated in the programme. Officials stated that continuous technical training initiatives would further improve operational efficiency and make policing more transparent, responsive, and dynamic in the future.
