Sultanpur: In a humanitarian gesture, the police team of Kotwali Dehat Police successfully rescued an abandoned infant girl aged around two to three months and ensured her safe rehabilitation under the supervision of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC).
According to police officials, on May 9, local resident Rajesh Kumar, son of Amirchandra and a resident of Islamganj village, informed the police that a baby girl had been found abandoned near a well outside the village.
Taking the matter seriously, Police Response Vehicle (PRV) 8890 along with the Kotwali Dehat police team immediately reached the spot. With the special assistance of women constables Sarita and Anjali, the infant was safely rescued and provided immediate protection and care.
The police promptly contacted the Child Care Helpline and completed all necessary legal formalities. Thereafter, the child was presented before the CWC magistrate in accordance with due procedure.

Following the orders of the magistrate, the infant was handed over for proper care and protection to Child Care Team supervisor Chandni and worker Ramlali Verma.
Police officials said the timely action ensured the safety and wellbeing of the child and highlighted the department’s commitment towards humanitarian service and child protection.
