Lucknow: Lok Dal national president Chaudhary Sunil Singh met Samajwadi Party national president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav at the Lohia Trust in Lucknow. The leaders held discussions on the upcoming 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
After the meeting, Singh described the discussions as positive, saying the interaction was held in a cordial and familial atmosphere rather than being merely a political meeting.
Singh said issues concerning farmers, youth, workers and the general public would remain central to the political discourse ahead of the 2027 polls. He stressed the need for continued dialogue among like-minded political groups and individuals to give a new direction to Uttar Pradesh politics.
The Lok Dal chief said the meeting should be viewed positively and indicated that discussions related to the 2027 Assembly elections would continue in the coming days.
Singh also said people in Uttar Pradesh were seeking change and maintained that any political strategy for the next election would have to keep the interests of farmers, young people and ordinary citizens at its core.
