Students Briefed on Bhoomi Fest ’26 at Bal Nikunj Inter College in Lucknow

Lucknow: Students of Bal Nikunj Inter College were provided detailed information about the upcoming Bhoomi Fest ’26 during the morning assembly, in an awareness initiative organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Lucknow University unit, under its ‘Students for Development’ (SFD) programme.

The session aimed to familiarise students with the objectives and activities of the two-day environmental festival, which will be held on April 22 and 23, 2026, at the historic campus of University of Lucknow to mark Earth Day.

Focus on Participation and Environmental Awareness

During the programme, SFD representatives outlined the structure and significance of Bhoomi Fest ’26. Soumya Singh, SFD metropolitan co-convenor, explained the detailed schedule of the event and highlighted opportunities for student participation. She elaborated on the “Earth Parliament,” where students can engage in discussions on environmental issues, and a talk show segment that will allow interaction with bureaucrats and scientists.

Unit minister Aryan Kushwaha informed students that those who perform exceptionally during the fest will be given an opportunity to participate in a free environmental leadership programme at Dudhwa National Park, along with certificates. He also encouraged students from Classes 6 to 12 to attend the event at Lucknow University along with their teachers.

Tribute and Creative Engagement

SFD member Kavita Kushwaha shared that one of the major highlights of the fest will be the creation of a large eco-friendly rangoli in memory of those who lost their lives in the Pahalgam attack, inviting student participation in the tribute.

The programme was attended by ABVP representatives including Aryan Kushwaha, Soumya Singh, Kavita Kushwaha, and social media coordinator Himanshu Rawat.

School Encourages Active Participation

School principal Bhagwati Bhandari motivated students to actively participate in the event, emphasising the importance of environmental awareness and social responsibility. Several teachers, including Rakesh Singh, R.N. Shukla, Sanjay, Sudha Mishra, Madhu Gupta, Narendra Tiwari, Pradeep, and Saroj, were also present on the occasion.

The initiative is expected to play a significant role in sensitising students towards environmental conservation while encouraging them to contribute meaningfully to society.
