Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Timber Association celebrated its 9th foundation day as ‘Vijay Diwas’ with great enthusiasm at Hotel Sky High in Ashbagh, where a swearing-in ceremony for the newly formed state executive committee was also organized.
The event was attended by several prominent dignitaries, with Mukesh Sharma, Member of the Legislative Council, present as the chief guest. Extending his congratulations to the association, Sharma said that success comes after sustained struggle, and the journey of the UP Timber Association stands as a strong example of this. He praised state president Mohneesh Trivedi for his efforts in uniting traders across the state and strengthening the wood-based industry, which has provided livelihood opportunities to hundreds.
Sharma also highlighted the support extended to timber traders in securing licenses, acknowledging the role of Rajnath Singh and Yogi Adityanath. He assured traders that the government remains committed to protecting the interests of traditional timber businesses and will continue to support the sector.
During the ceremony, Mukesh Sharma administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed office bearers, extending his best wishes for their tenure.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohneesh Trivedi stated that the association chose to celebrate its foundation day as ‘Vijay Diwas’ to symbolise the collective achievements and struggles of the timber trade community. He reiterated the organisation’s commitment to addressing the concerns of traders and further strengthening the industry.
The event witnessed the presence of several key members and व्यापारी leaders, including Saket Sharma (former councillor), Girish Gupta, Sandeep Sharma, legal advisor and programme coordinator Ashish Trivedi, general secretary Akhtar Khan, patron Ajit Singh, Mulchand Maurya, vice presidents Vinod Sharma, Ejaz Khan, Devendra Pratap Singh, Abhay Singh, advocate Vivek Pandey, Saurabh Gupta, Mohammad Raza, Adhati Sangh president Devashish Dev, and trader leaders Jitendra Singh, Anurag Agrawal, Kashif, and Prakher Srivastava among others.
The event concluded with a strong message of unity and progress, as the association reaffirmed its role in promoting the interests of timber traders and contributing to the growth of the sector in Uttar Pradesh.
