Two IPS Officers Transferred in Lucknow Police Commissionerate, Assigned Key Roles

Lucknow: In a fresh administrative reshuffle, the Uttar Pradesh government has reassigned two Indian Police Service (IPS) officers within the Lucknow Police Commissionerate, entrusting them with significant new responsibilities.

According to official information, Amit Kumar Anand has been appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) South. He was previously serving as a DCP within the Lucknow Police Commissionerate and has now been given charge of the southern zone, a crucial policing division in the state capital.

Similarly, Dr. Diksha Sharma has been assigned the role of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) East. She was also serving in the commissionerate and has now been elevated to handle the eastern zone, which includes several rapidly developing areas of Lucknow.

Dr. Diksha Sharma, a 2017-batch IPS officer, earlier served as Superintendent of Police in Hamirpur district before her recent transfer to Lucknow. Originally from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, she has been recognized for her administrative and policing capabilities.

Amit Kumar Anand, a 2016-batch IPS officer, previously held the position of Superintendent of Police in Amroha district. A native of Gautam Buddha Nagar in Uttar Pradesh, he was recently moved to Lucknow and has now been given a key operational role in the commissionerate.

The reshuffle is part of the ongoing administrative changes under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath, aimed at strengthening governance and improving law enforcement efficiency in the state.

Such strategic postings are seen as an effort to enhance policing effectiveness in Lucknow, which continues to expand as a major urban and administrative hub.
