Lucknow – Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya attended the closing ceremony of the Late Radhika Singh Memorial State-Level Women’s Cricket Tournament at Sage Cricket Academy, Gomtinagar, Lucknow, inspiring young female cricketers and applauding their outstanding performances.
At the event, the Deputy Chief Minister commended the players for their remarkable skill and determination, emphasizing that girls are now reaching new heights in sports. He personally interacted with the athletes, conveying his best wishes for a bright future and encouraging them to embrace new energy, confidence, and ambition.
The ceremony began with Deputy CM Maurya paying homage to the late Radhika Singh, placing a floral tribute at her portrait. He highlighted that events like these not only provide a platform for talent but also advance the cause of women’s empowerment in society.

Speaking on the significance of sports, the Deputy CM said that athletics contribute to physical and mental development while fostering discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills. He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to promoting sports, encouraging athletes, and creating special initiatives for the advancement of women in sports.
Maurya also praised the tournament organizer, Harsh Vardhan Singh, for strengthening the sporting culture in Uttar Pradesh and providing opportunities for emerging talent. The event was attended by dignitaries including MLA Asha Maurya and other prominent guests.
