Lucknow/Gautam Buddh Nagar/Ghaziabad/Hapur: To boost religious and spiritual tourism in western Uttar Pradesh, Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for several projects worth crores of rupees across districts including Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ghaziabad and Hapur.
The initiatives include beautification and tourism development of temples, improvement of tourist facilities, and the construction of infrastructure such as a multi-level parking facility at Brajghat in Garhmukteshwar. Officials said tourism projects worth over ₹100 crore will significantly enhance religious tourism in the region.
During the visit, the minister also unveiled two statues of Gautama Buddha at the International Buddhist Education Institute in Hapur. The statues were brought from Thailand and Cambodia, symbolizing international cultural and spiritual ties.
Addressing the gathering, Jaiveer Singh said that India is the land of Buddha and a messenger of peace to the world. “At a time when many parts of the world are facing conflicts, the message of peace, compassion and coexistence given by Buddha is more relevant than ever,” he said.
Temple Development Projects
In the Jewar Assembly constituency of Gautam Buddh Nagar, the minister inaugurated development works at the Nankeshwar Mahadev Temple in Bhaiyapur Brahman village. Tourism infrastructure improvements worth around ₹81 lakh have been carried out in the temple premises to provide better facilities to devotees and visitors.
In Ghaziabad, Jaiveer Singh inaugurated tourism development works worth ₹5.52 crore at the historic Dudheshwarnath Temple, aimed at enhancing religious tourism in the area.

Major Projects in Hapur
A major push to tourism infrastructure was also announced for the Brajghat–Garhmukteshwar area in Hapur district. The minister laid the foundation stone for tourism development projects worth over ₹86 crore, including a Tourist Facilitation Centre-cum-Multicultural Hub, construction of a multi-level parking facility and grand entrance gate, and development of tourism facilities at religious sites including the ancient Shiva temple in Saravni village.
Additionally, the minister inaugurated five tourism development projects worth about ₹20 crore in the region. These include facade lighting at Brajghat, development works at the Ganga Temple in Garhmukteshwar, tourism infrastructure at VIP Ghat, beautification of Fawwara Chowk, and improvements in ghats and basic facilities along the Ganga riverfront.
During the visit, Jaiveer Singh also participated in the Ganga Aarti at Brajghat, offering prayers for the prosperity and well-being of the state.
The minister said the state government under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath is committed to transforming religious and cultural sites in western Uttar Pradesh into world-class tourism destinations, which will not only attract pilgrims and tourists but also generate employment and economic opportunities for local communities.
