CMS Cambridge Organises Students–Parents Premier League

Lucknow : The Cambridge Section of City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar Extension Campus organised a one-day Students–Parents Premier League at the school playground in a highly joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere. In this grand sporting event, along with students, their parents and guardians also showcased their sporting talent in cricket, kho-kho and race competitions, captivating everyone present. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guests,  Sheetal Verma, Director, Census Operations and Civil Registration, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and Adarsh Singh, Excise Commissioner, Government of Uttar Pradesh, by cutting the ceremonial ribbon. The ceremony was also graced by the presence of Sushama Rajkumar, Dean of CMS Cambridge and  Anupama Cheker, Principal of CMS Gomti Nagar Extension Campus.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Chief Guest Sheetal Verma said that such events play a significant role in enhancing parents’ participation in school activities and also help build strong relationships among students, teachers and parents. Similarly, Chief Guest  Adarsh Singh stated in his address that such programmes promote unity, cooperation, harmony and a spirit of brotherhood among the younger generation, while beautifully reflecting the diversity and vibrancy of school culture.

Under the Students–Parents Premier League, the cricket match played between Royal Challengers and Knight Riders was the major highlight of the event, in which parents of students from Classes 3 to 10 enthusiastically displayed their cricketing skills with great zeal and sportsmanship. During the match, the signature IPL tune echoed across the ground, while young students, acting as cheerleaders, enthusiastically cheered for their parents, filling the environment with excitement and joy.

The Royal Challengers team emerged victorious in the competition. The kho-kho competition organised for mothers was equally thrilling, where the teams Dynamic Dashers and United Sprinters displayed remarkable agility, strategy and sporting spirit, leaving the audience thoroughly impressed. The Dynamic Dashers team won the competition. Similarly, the Mother-Child Race was also highly engaging and entertained the spectators immensely. Overall, the event proved to be a memorable experience for students, teachers and parents alike.

At the end of the programme, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the parents, Maseerah Arif, Coordinator of the Cambridge Section at CMS Gomti Nagar Extension Campus, said that the Cambridge Section of CMS is playing a significant role in preparing the younger generation as global leaders. She expressed happiness that parents are equally conscious about their children’s bright future and actively participate in school activities. She added that the school’s aim of shaping the future generation into capable and smart individuals can be achieved only with the cooperation of parents.
