Lucknow: King George’s Medical University (KGMU) has received a valuable boost to its patient care services with the addition of ten stretchers and ten wheelchairs at the New OPD building. The equipment, which will be available free of cost for patients and their attendants, was donated on Wednesday by the Samrat Vikramaditya Sewa Sansthan.
The information was shared by the organisation’s secretary, Anand Pandey, during the handover ceremony.

Vice-Chancellor Expresses Gratitude
KGMU Vice-Chancellor Padma Dr. Sonia Nityanand attended the event as the chief guest. She expressed heartfelt thanks to the donors, recalling her long-standing association with the organisation’s leaders, Omprakash Pandey and Anand Pandey, dating back to her PGI days.
Dr. Nityanand acknowledged the continuous support the institution has received from the Sansthan and appreciated their contributions to other medical institutions like Lohia Hospital. She also suggested that in future donations, mattresses for the stretchers should also be included for enhanced patient comfort.

- Pradeep Singh (Chief Patron): 5 wheelchairs

- Kamal Gupta: 1 stretcher
The Sansthan’s organisation general secretary, Om Prakash Pandey, presented a detailed account of the charitable work being done in medical institutions.

Upcoming Initiative
Secretary Anand Pandey announced that the organisation will host a major event on December 3 to mark International Disability Day, continuing its mission to support healthcare services across the city.
With these newly added stretchers and wheelchairs, KGMU aims to further enhance patient mobility and service efficiency at one of Lucknow’s busiest OPDs.
