LDA to Set Up New Adjudicating Authority Court in Hazratganj, Building to Come Up Near Sarojini Naidu Park

Lucknow: The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is set to construct a new Adjudicating Authority Court near Sarojini Naidu Park in Hazratganj, giving the city a dedicated three-storey building for hearings related to illegal constructions and plotting matters. LDA Vice-Chairman Prathamesh Kumar inspected the proposed site on Wednesday and directed officials to complete the construction within one year.

Spread across 11,300 sq ft, the new structure will be built at an estimated cost of ₹5.5 crore. Once ready, it will house the adjudicating authorities of both Cis-Gomti and Trans-Gomti areas, along with the entire enforcement wing of LDA.

Why a New Building?

Currently, the adjudicating authority court operates from LDA’s old office in Lalbagh, where hearings on illegal construction and plotting issues are conducted. The enforcement teams also function from the same premises. However, ever since the Family Court was shifted to the Lalbagh campus, routine operations of the adjudicating authority have been disrupted, prompting the need for a new, dedicated facility.

Building Layout

  • Stilt Floor: Parking
  • First Floor: Adjudicating authority courts for Cis-Gomti and Trans-Gomti
  • Second Floor: Office space for clerks, staff and support personnel
  • Third Floor: Offices for junior and assistant engineers assigned to enforcement zones
  • Amenities: Record rooms, stores and washrooms on each floor

LDA Vice-Chairman Prathamesh Kumar said the new premises will streamline hearings and enforcement proceedings, ensuring smoother functioning of the authority.

22-Crore Park Coming Up in CG City

In addition to the court building, LDA is also developing a new 16-acre park in the southern part of CG City. Estimated to cost ₹22 crore, the park will feature dedicated pathways and green spaces. During his inspection, the Vice-Chairman instructed officials to begin pathway construction at the earliest and emphasized that all development work must avoid harming the existing trees and vegetation.

With these new projects, LDA aims to enhance civic infrastructure and improve administrative efficiency in the state capital.
