Rumi Gate  Shines in Blue on World Diabetes Day Eve, Initiative Led by Diabetologist Dr. Ajay Tiwari

Lucknow: On the eve of World Diabetes Day, Lucknow’s iconic heritage monument Rumi Gate will illuminate in blue to spread awareness about diabetes. The initiative is being spearheaded by Dr. Ajay Tiwari, Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh chapter of the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI).

Dr. Tiwari announced that a Diabetes Awareness Program will be held on Thursday evening at Rumi Gate and Bada Imambara. The event will feature Prof. Amod Sachan, Chairman of Hind Group of Institutions, as the chief guest. Distinguished guests will include Dr. Neeraj Bora, Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly; Anurag Mishra, Councillor, Chowk; and Prof. Anuj Maheshwari, President of the RSSDI Uttar Pradesh chapter.

As part of the global initiative led annually by the International Diabetes Federation, the Rumi Gate will be illuminated in blue — the universal colour of diabetes awareness. Dr. Tiwari emphasized that the aim of this campaign is to convey to the public that diabetes is not a curse, and with a mindful lifestyle and regular health check-ups, it can be effectively managed.

With the city’s landmark joining the global movement, Lucknow is set to send a powerful message on health awareness and community responsibility.
