Akhilesh Yadav Slams BJP, Calls Government Anti-Farmer, Anti-Youth, and Anti-Business

Etawah– Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav  launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, accusing it of betraying farmers, youth, workers, and small businesses through “faulty policies and false promises.”

Speaking to the media in Etawah, Yadav said that the BJP had misled the public by promising to double farmers’ income, generate jobs for youth, and control inflation. “The government claimed GST would simplify business, but it has turned into the only law in the world with the maximum number of amendments. Even after so many changes, it continues to burden traders,” he remarked.

Yadav questioned who had truly benefited from GST, alleging that inflation has risen sharply, with ordinary citizens bearing the brunt. He argued that reducing GST slabs will not bring down prices since “those who thrive on profiteering will not lower costs.”

He also criticized the government’s silence on U.S. tariffs, which, he claimed, are hurting exports of Bhadohi carpets, Moradabad brassware, and goods from Meerut and Saharanpur. “This will push artisans into unemployment and weaken India’s economy,” he warned.

On agriculture, the SP chief alleged that farmers are struggling for fertilizer, seeds, and pesticides, while the government fails to ensure fair crop prices. “The BJP has ruined farming. Farmers’ incomes will never double under this regime,” he said.

Accusing the BJP of “divisive and exploitative politics,” Yadav claimed the government deliberately suppresses marginalized communities. He concluded that inflation, unemployment, and injustice would only end once the BJP is voted out of power.
