LUCKNOW – The inaugural Lucknow District Para Dance Sports Championship, organized by the Lucknow District Dance Sports Association, concluded today at Lulu Mall with great enthusiasm and energy. The historic competition aimed to promote self-confidence, creativity, sportsmanship, and social participation among people with disabilities.
Dignitaries and officials praised the event’s importance and the performers’ talent. Jayakumar Gangadharan, Director of Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi for Lulu India, highlighted that the event proved talent can overcome any limitations when given the opportunity and encouragement. He emphasized Lulu India’s commitment to supporting such inspirational social events to bring about positive change.
Noman Aziz Khan, Regional Director of Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi for Lulu India, urged people to let go of limiting beliefs and continuously encourage the younger generation. “Today’s performances have proven that any challenge can be overcome with true inspiration and determination,” he said.
The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Anoop Gupta, a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, who lit the ceremonial lamp. In his address, he stated, “People with disabilities are a priceless asset to our society. By providing them with a platform for their talent, we not only boost their morale but also take a step toward a more sensitive and inclusive society.”
The closing ceremony saw Dr. Himanshu Shekhar Jha, State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Government of Uttar Pradesh, present medals and certificates to the winners. “This competition is a testament to the immense capabilities of people with disabilities,” he said. “We must all work together to create more such platforms where they can showcase their art and confidence to the world.”

The special guest of honor, Dr. Kirti Vikram Singh, Director of IGNOU Regional Centre, Lucknow, said that true empowerment comes from giving people with disabilities equal opportunities in education, sports, and cultural activities.
K.B. Pant, Chief Executive Officer of the Dance Sports Association, shared the vision for the event, explaining that the championship was designed to encourage people with disabilities in the field of dance sports. He announced that more such events would be held in the future to provide them with opportunities to compete at national and international levels.
Over 50 participants with disabilities from various institutions and organizations across Lucknow district captivated the audience with their stunning dance performances. The audience of hundreds showed their appreciation with thunderous applause, boosting the morale of the performers.
The successful organization of the event was made possible with the special contributions of Lulu Mall management, volunteers, social organizations, and the media. This championship was not just a sports competition but also a powerful symbol of social empathy, equality, and inspiration.
