Ayodhya to Get a Grand ‘Tilak Pravesh Dwar’ as Part of Spiritual Tourism Push

AYODHYA — The city of Ayodhya, a center of faith and culture, is set to receive a new landmark with the construction of the ‘Tilak Pravesh Dwar’ (Tilak Entrance Gate). This grand gate is being built on the Panchkosi Parikrama Marg near the historic Hanuman Gufa as part of the Yogi government’s ambitious plan to strengthen the city’s spiritual identity and promote religious tourism.

The Ayodhya Development Authority is overseeing the project, which has an estimated cost of ₹1.89 crore and is already 60% complete. This entrance gate is designed to be more than just a structure; it will symbolize Ayodhya’s rich religious traditions and cultural heritage, offering a magnificent and spiritual welcome to the thousands of devotees who undertake the Panchkosi Parikrama pilgrimage.

The design of the gate is a fusion of classical architectural styles, temple aesthetics, and modern techniques. It will feature traditional craftsmanship, stone carvings, and pillars adorned with motifs inspired by the Ramayana era, creating a beautiful and awe-inspiring structure. The area around the gate is also being beautified with grand facades, special lighting, and lush greenery to enhance its appeal as a major tourist attraction.

Ashwin Pandey, Vice President of the Ayodhya Development Authority, stated that the “Tilak Pravesh Dwar will not only elevate Ayodhya’s religious status but will also be unique from an architectural perspective.” He emphasized that special attention is being paid to high-quality construction and grandeur to ensure the gate provides a memorable experience for both devotees and tourists.

The construction of this gate is a key milestone in Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision to transform Ayodhya into a global religious tourism center. This vision includes several other projects, such as the redevelopment of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi area, construction of the Aastha Path and Bhakti Path, improved amenities for pilgrims, and the restoration of ghats and riverfronts.

The new gate has been met with enthusiasm from local residents, who believe it will serve as a powerful symbol of Ayodhya’s pride and cultural legacy. With construction progressing rapidly, officials aim to complete the gate in the coming months, making it a new, iconic landmark for the city.
