RAJPUR-CHITRAKOOT: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Thursday, visited the birthplace of Goswami Tulsidas in Rajpur to participate in the 528th birth anniversary celebrations of the revered saint. The Chief Minister announced a comprehensive development plan for Chitrakoot, focusing on tourism, infrastructure, and self-reliance, with the aim of transforming the region into a hub of “faith, security, and self-reliance.”
Homage to Goswami Tulsidas and Spiritual Heritage
During his visit, CM Yogi paid his respects at the Tulsidas Janm-Kutir (birthplace), offering prayers and seeking blessings. He also had the opportunity to view the handwritten manuscript of the ‘Shri Ramcharitmanas’ at the Manas Temple. The Chief Minister participated in the ‘Tulsi Sahitya Samagam’ (Literary Conclave) at the Tulsi Resort, where he met with prominent spiritual leaders, including Pujya Saint Murari Bapu and Jagadguru Shri Rambhadracharya Maharaj. He addressed the gathering of saints, highlighting Chitrakoot’s rich cultural and spiritual legacy.

Development Initiatives: Riverfront, Ropeway, and Expressway
CM Yogi outlined a multi-faceted development strategy for the region. He announced the construction of a riverfront along the Yamuna River, which is expected to boost tourism and create employment opportunities. The Chief Minister also mentioned ongoing projects such as the Ram Van Gaman Marg, the Bundelkhand Expressway, and the Defence Corridor, emphasizing their role in making Bundelkhand a “base of national power.” The CM also inaugurated a magnificent statue of Goswami Tulsidas at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Ganiwan and planted saplings, underscoring the importance of environmental conservation.


A Warning to Pakistan and a Vision for Self-Reliance
Addressing a public gathering, CM Yogi delivered a stern warning to Pakistan, stating that any attempt to challenge India would be met with a “befitting reply.” He highlighted the strategic importance of the Defence Corridor, which aims to strengthen the country’s military capabilities and establish regions like Chitrakoot as centers for defense production. The Chief Minister further elaborated on his vision for a “fear-free and spiritually vibrant” Chitrakoot, citing ongoing beautification and development projects at holy sites like Gramoday University, Valmiki Ashram, and Kamadgiri. He stressed the importance of institutions like Gramoday University in building an “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India).
Dignitaries and Recognition
The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Minister for Jal Shakti Swatantra Dev Singh, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, and other senior officials. CM Yogi was presented with a statue of Goswami Tulsidas by the officials of the Deendayal Research Institute.
