Lucknow: National P.G. College, Lucknow, marked World Environment Day with a tree plantation drive organized under the leadership of Principal Prof. Devendra Kumar Singh. The event, jointly conducted by the Department of Botany and the National Service Scheme (NSS), focused on this year’s global theme — “Eradicating Plastic Pollution.”
As part of the program, students created posters highlighting environmental issues, and saplings of mango, tecoma, and ficus were planted within the college campus. Principal Prof. Singh emphasized the significance of observing Environment Day, stating, “The aim of this celebration is to raise awareness and instill responsibility towards nature. Human life cannot sustain without nature, making it essential to protect trees, forests, rivers, and all natural resources. Special attention must be paid to managing plastic waste responsibly.”
