Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has instructed the officials of the Rural Development Department to celebrate the Independence Day in an atmosphere of full enthusiasm, gaiety and excitement. Instructions have been given that on Independence Day, along with hoisting the national flag on Amrit Sarovar / ponds built by MNREGA, various programs imbued with the spirit of patriotism should be organized. Tiranga Yatra, tree plantation, competition etc. programs should also be organized. A special cleanliness campaign of one week should be run before 15 August. Along with making selfie points at each Amrit Sarovar, instructions have been given to organize cultural programs.
In line with the instructions of the Deputy Chief Minister, Rural Development Commissioner GS Priyadarshi has issued necessary guidelines to all Chief Development Officers. In order to ensure everyone’s participation in the Independence Day celebrations, instructions have been issued by the department to the concerned officers / employees to make timely preparations and organize programs. Before 15th August, a week-long cleanliness drive will be conducted to ensure cleanliness and villagers will be made aware about cleanliness.
Instructions have been given to organize various programs on Independence Day at all Amrit Sarovar sites and ponds built and developed under MNREGA scheme in the Gram Panchayats. Also, to ensure the participation of villagers in the program, a Tiranga Yatra will be taken out by the village community in the morning, which will travel around the village and end at Amrit Sarovar and ponds. The people participating in the program organized there will also be administered the cleanliness oath.
Along with the use of water from Amrit Sarovar, the user group associated with Amrit Sarovar will also be distributed a certificate of rights for the maintenance of the surroundings. To ensure the participation of children in the program, instructions have also been given to organize competitive activities like painting, slogan writing, rangoli, speech etc. at Amrit Sarovars. At the same time, instructions have also been issued to organize traditional rural games at the venue. Instructions have been given to create selfie points at each Amrit Sarovar as well as organize cultural programs. Instructions have been given to upload the photos of the program on social media platforms with the hashtag #MeraAmritSarovar.
