26th CEC-UGC Educational Film Festival Concludes with Grand Award Ceremony at University of Lucknow

Lucknow: The University of Lucknow, in collaboration with the Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC), successfully organized the 26th CEC-UGC Educational Film Festival from March 20-22, 2024. The festival showcased 18 remarkable films, highlighting diverse themes and innovative storytelling in the field of education and communication.
The festival was inaugurated by  Governor of Uttar Pradesh,  Anandiben Patel, in a prestigious ceremony attended by eminent academicians, filmmakers, and students.

Addressing the gathering at the valedictory function, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lucknow, Prof. Alok Kumar Rai, emphasized the power of films as an influential audio-visual medium, impacting multiple senses and effectively conveying messages.

During the valedictory function, Chief Guest Prof. Lokanath N.K., Vice-Chancellor University of Mysore, underscored the relevance of conventional mediums in today’s academic landscape, stating that films remain a strong and effective mode of communication. He also congratulated the winners and encouraged participants to continue their commendable work in academic filmmaking.

Prof. J.B. Nadda, Director of CEC, expressed gratitude to the University of Lucknow for being an exceptional host and expressed his hope for future academic collaborations.

The award distribution ceremony recognized outstanding contributions in various categories. The winners were:

2. Best Short Film Award – National Education Policy 2020 – Prashant Kuhikar (Rs.50,000/-)
3. Innovative Lecture Award (Academician) – Ideal Interaction Between Doctor and Medical Representative – Dr. Chitra C Khanwelkar (Rs.50,000/-)
4. Best MOOCs Award – Environmental Pollution and Human Health – Dr. Tejinder Singh (Rs.50,000/-)
5. Best Script Writing Award – Matribhumi Ka Vaibhav: Prakritik Krishi – Bharat Jhadav on behalf of Himani Tiwari (Rs.25,000/-)
6. Best Cinematography Award – Matribhumi Ka Vaibhav: Prakritik Krishi – Bharat Jhadav on behalf of Amar Thakkar & Narayan Nath (Rs.12,500/- each)
7. Best Editing Award – Magical Millets – M.R. Santhosh Kumar (Rs.25,000/-)
8. Best Sound Design Award – Music of Rejuvenation-I – Arindam Konar on behalf of Iman Chakrabarty (Rs.25,000/-)
9. Best Program of the Year Award (Exclusively for EMRCs) – Raised on Rhythms – Sajeed Naduthody (Rs.50,000/-)

The festival was efficiently hosted by Prof. Geetanjali Mishra, Dean Academics, with the presence of Dr. Sunil Mehru, Joint Director (Software) CEC, Directors of Electronic Media Research Centre, filmmakers, producers, and faculty members from various departments.

The event concluded on a high note, celebrating the creative and academic excellence showcased through films. The University of Lucknow and CEC look forward to further strengthening their collaboration for future educational initiatives.
