Raebareli: A grand Teachers’ Day celebration and felicitation ceremony was organised at RDJS Public School, Khairaini, Raebareli, jointly by RDJS Public School and the Uttar Pradesh Pharmacy College and Pharma Industries Welfare Association (UPPCPIWA), Lucknow, to mark the birth anniversary of former President of India, Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
The programme began with the garlanding of the idol of Goddess Saraswati, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Justice Shivendra Kumar Mishra said that teachers are the true nation-builders. He described Teachers’ Day as not merely a celebration but an occasion to express gratitude towards educators who illuminate countless lives through knowledge.
“Education is the foundation of a strong nation, and the contribution of teachers can never be underestimated,” he said. Justice Mishra also appreciated the recognition accorded to teachers under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He praised RDJS Public School for providing quality education in a rural area like Raebareli.
Poonam Mishra, wife of Justice Shivendra Kumar Mishra and a special guest at the event, highlighted the importance of women’s education and empowerment. She said an educated woman contributes to building an educated family and a stronger nation. She also paid tribute to women teachers for their contribution to education, social service and nation-building.
Prof. Durgesh Mani Tripathi, Vice President/General Secretary of UPPCPIWA, said that a teacher never truly retires because educators continue to guide society throughout their lives. He noted the growing prominence of Uttar Pradesh in the pharmacy sector and credited teachers for playing an important role in this progress.
He said UPPCPIWA is committed to connecting meritorious students from rural areas with opportunities in pharmacy education. “Respect for teachers is ultimately respect for the nation,” he said.
The presidential address was delivered by Prof. America Singh, Founder and Manager of RDJS Public School and Chairman of UPPCPIWA. She expressed gratitude to the chief guest, Poonam Mishra and Prof. Tripathi for their participation in the programme.
Prof. Singh said both organisations regard education as a service rather than merely a business. She recalled the contribution of teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic, when educators continued teaching through online platforms and ensured that the learning process remained uninterrupted.
She also announced that UPPCPIWA would soon organise a career counselling camp in Raebareli for pharmacy students, aimed at helping young people understand educational and professional opportunities in the sector.
25 Teachers Felicitated
A total of 25 teachers of RDJS Public School were honoured with the Outstanding Teacher Award during the ceremony. Each awardee received an angavastram, a certificate of appreciation and a cash award of ₹1,100.
The school principal said that every teacher at the institution works as part of one family and contributes collectively towards the academic and overall development of students.
The ceremony concluded with refreshments and an expression of appreciation for the teachers whose dedication continues to contribute to education and community development in the region.
