Lucknow: In a significant breakthrough, the Krishna Nagar police along with the South Zone surveillance cell arrested a wanted accused carrying a reward of ₹25,000 and recovered a large quantity of stolen jewellery and cash.
The accused, identified as Kuldeep Yadav (37), a resident of Nizampur Malhaur, had been absconding in multiple theft and robbery cases registered at Krishna Nagar police station. His arrest marks a major success for the Lucknow Police in cracking a lot of recent house thefts.
According to police officials, Kuldeep was apprehended on April 14 from a makeshift hut near the Kesari Kheda railway line, based on technical and manual intelligence inputs. A reward of ₹25,000 had been announced on him by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South).
During the operation, police recovered stolen jewellery worth approximately ₹8 lakh along with cash. The recovered items include gold bangles, rings, nose rings, earrings, a necklace, mangalsutra, locket, and other ornaments, along with a bundle of currency notes.
Police revealed that several theft cases had been registered earlier this year following complaints by residents in Krishna Nagar areas, including Alinagar Sunhera and Bajrang Nagar. The accused was linked to at least three major burglary cases reported in February and March 2026.

Earlier in the investigation, one accused Shubham Soni had already been arrested and sent to judicial custody, while another accused Vipin was apprehended after a police encounter on April 11.
Kuldeep Yadav has a criminal history with at least seven cases registered against him under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including theft, burglary, and other offences across Krishna Nagar and PGI police stations.
Following his arrest, further legal proceedings are underway, and the accused is being produced before the court. Police officials stated that efforts are ongoing to trace any additional accomplices and recover remaining stolen property. The successful operation was carried out by the Krishna Nagar police team in coordination with the South Zone surveillance unit under the Lucknow Commissionerate.
