Youth Development Seminar on Life Balance and Inner Peace Held at Rohilkhand University

Bareilly: A motivational youth development seminar on the theme “Life on Two Wheels: Balancing Modern Life and Inner Peace” was organised at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University under the joint aegis of Ethicraft, New Delhi, and the university. The event aimed to guide students on achieving a balanced lifestyle amid modern challenges.

The seminar was conducted under the leadership of Dean Student Welfare Prof. P.B. Singh and Cultural Coordinator Dr. Jyoti Pandey, with Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.P. Singh presiding over the programme. The event began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a Saraswati Vandana presented by members of the cultural club.

In his welcome address, Prof. P.B. Singh emphasised the importance of holistic development among youth, including personality development, career guidance, mental health management, and fostering values such as responsibility and social awareness. PM-USHA Coordinator Prof. Sanjay Mishra highlighted the growing mental health challenges faced by students due to increasing competition and stress, stressing the need for inner peace through meditation, positive thinking, and stronger family and social connections.

Temple Manager Bhanu Arjundas shared insights into youth-oriented initiatives, while Controller of Examinations Sanjeev Kumar Singh encouraged students to stay focused and motivated. Dr. Jyoti Pandey underlined the importance of maintaining balance in life, stating that student life is a crucial phase that shapes the future and requires discipline, emotional management, and mindful living.

The keynote speaker, Madhav Das, delivered an engaging session on stress management and personal growth. He addressed issues such as anxiety, loneliness, and the impact of social media, urging students to develop self-awareness and avoid unhealthy comparisons. Through interactive discussions and practical examples drawn from Indian scriptures like the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and the Bhagavad Gita, he elaborated on eight key dimensions of life—spiritual practice, nature, relationships, service, education, capability, health, and time management. He also conducted practical exercises on meditation, deep breathing, and mind management.

In his presidential address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.P. Singh highlighted stress management as a critical concern in academic environments. He encouraged students to adopt healthy habits, set realistic goals, take purposeful breaks, limit screen time, and practise mindfulness to enhance concentration and overall well-being.

The programme was anchored by Dr. Jyoti Pandey, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Akinchan Chaitanyadas. The event witnessed the presence of Registrar Harish Chandra, faculty members, staff, and a large number of students.

The seminar served as a valuable platform for self-reflection and personal growth, inspiring students to lead balanced and purposeful lives.
