Yogi Government to Celebrate UP Diwas with Grand Festivities

Lucknow: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh Day (UP Diwas) will be celebrated from January 24 to 26 this year. A wide array of events will be held across the state, including in Lucknow, Noida, and all other districts of Uttar Pradesh. The theme for this year’s UP Diwas is “Vikas aur Virasat: Pragati Path Par Uttar Pradesh” (Development and Heritage: Uttar Pradesh on the Path of Progress), which will guide a range of exhibitions, seminars, conferences, cultural programs, competitions, and roadshows.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the authorities to make this year’s UP Diwas celebration the most grand and impactful event. In addition, directions have been issued for the organization of several other key programs.

Foundation of Uttar Pradesh on January 24, 1950

Uttar Pradesh was established on January 24, 1950, when the state was renamed from the United Provinces to Uttar Pradesh. Since 2018, the Yogi government has been celebrating Uttar Pradesh Day every year between January 24 and 26. This year, as in previous years, the state government, through various departments, will organize UP Diwas celebrations with active participation from the public. The main events will take place in Lucknow and Noida, but all 75 districts of the state will hold their own UP Diwas celebrations.

Theme for UP Diwas: ‘Vikas Aur Virasat: Pragati Path Par Uttar Pradesh’

Manoj Kumar Singh, the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, has issued a directive to all the Additional Chief Secretaries and Principal Secretaries of various departments, instructing them to align all programs related to UP Diwas under the theme of “Vikas aur Virasat: Pragati Path Par Uttar Pradesh”. This theme will guide exhibitions, seminars, cultural programs, competitions, roadshows, and other events during the three-day celebration.

On this occasion, winners of the sports competitions organized by the Youth Welfare Department, which will coincide with the birthday of Swami Vivekananda, will also be honored on UP Diwas.

Diverse Programs by Various Departments Under Yogi Government’s Direction

The Yogi government has directed various departments to organize a multitude of events on UP Diwas. The MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) Department will hold an exhibition showcasing the products of artisans from across the state under the ODOP (One District One Product) initiative.

The Industries and Infrastructure Department will organize an exhibition focused on startups and the Ease of Doing Business. Invest Uttar Pradesh will host an exhibition about the state’s vision to become a one trillion-dollar economy. The Information and Public Relations Department will present an exhibition on the theme “Pragatimaan Uttar Pradesh” (Progressive Uttar Pradesh), while the Home Department will organize an exhibition on “Mission Shakti”, highlighting women empowerment.

Additionally, the Parliamentary Affairs Department will display an exhibition on the “Constitution Gallery and the Amrit Kaal of the Constitution”, while the Urban Development Department will showcase an exhibition based on the Kumbh. The Culture Department will display exhibitions on Uttar Pradesh’s rich art, culture, and history, and an exhibition on the Kakkori Train Action will also be featured.

In recognition of outstanding contributions in various fields, many individuals will be honored during the UP Diwas celebrations.

Additional Grand Celebrations on January 23, 25, and 26

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also directed the organization of grand events on January 23, 25, and 26. January 23 will mark the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, while January 25 will be observed as National Tourism Day and National Voters’ Day. On January 26, the nation will celebrate Republic Day. Chief Minister Adityanath has instructed all departments to ensure proper arrangements and celebrations for these events as well.

As per the Chief Minister’s directives, all departments are working on finalizing the preparations for UP Diwas and related events to ensure a grand and successful celebration of Uttar Pradesh’s rich heritage and progressive journey.
