Dr. Shweta Sengar Leads Initiative to Encourage Literature, Knowledge and Intellectual Development Among Children and Youth
Lucknow: In a significant initiative aimed at fostering a culture of reading, learning, and creativity within police families, Vama Sarathi (UP Police Family Welfare Association) successfully organized “Book Fair–2026” and introduced an innovative Reading Room concept at the Seminar Hall of the Police Lines in Lucknow.
The programme was conducted under the leadership and coordination of Dr. Shweta Sengar, Chairperson of the Education Committee of Vama Sarathi, with the objective of making quality and inspirational literature accessible to members of police families while encouraging children and young people to develop strong reading habits and intellectual curiosity.
Promoting a Culture of Learning
The initiative seeks to create a positive academic and literary environment within the police community by connecting children and youth with books, knowledge resources, and creative activities. Organizers said the programme aims to nurture intellectual growth, improve learning outcomes, and cultivate a lifelong interest in reading and self-development.
Under Dr. Sengar’s guidance, the Education Committee has undertaken efforts to promote study-oriented activities and encourage constructive engagement with literature among members of police families.
Competitions Showcase Young Talent
As part of the second day of the Book Fair–2026 celebrations held on July 5, a series of competitions were organized to encourage creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression among children.

- Quiz Competition

Children participated enthusiastically in the contests, displaying impressive creativity, imagination, and intellectual skills. The events provided a platform for young participants to showcase their talents while developing confidence and communication abilities.

The winners of the various competitions were felicitated and awarded prizes by Dr. Shweta Sengar, who congratulated the participants and encouraged them to continue pursuing reading, creative writing, and knowledge-enhancing activities.
She emphasized the importance of books in shaping young minds and urged students to cultivate regular reading habits as a means of personal growth and lifelong learning.

The event was attended by members of the Education Vertical of Vama Sarathi, including Niharika Singh, Dr. Veena Singh, and Dr. Manini Srivastava, who actively participated in the programme and encouraged both children and parents.

Literary and Cultural Highlights
The programme also witnessed participation from Chander Prakash and Manav Vishan Prakash of Universal Book Sellers and several distinguished guests from the literary and educational sectors.
Adding a cultural dimension to the event, radio jockey and digital content creator Prateek Bhardwaj delivered a live devotional music jamming performance that was well received by attendees.
The quiz competition was conducted by noted quiz master, author, and motivational speaker Chandrashekhar Verma, who engaged participants through an interactive and informative session designed to test their general knowledge and reasoning skills.

Among those present on the occasion were Reserve Police Lines Inspector First Brijendra Kumar Singh, Reserve Police Lines Inspector Second Rajesh Kumar Singh, and Police Modern School Principal Preeti Verma, along with teachers and staff members who supported the event and encouraged student participation.
