Lucknow: After taking charge of Uttar Pradesh, which was called a sick state, in the year 2017, CM Yogi Adityanath took a pledge of One District One Medical College to make the state a healthy state. Due to the continuous efforts made in seven and a half years, today his resolution seems to be bearing fruit.
Where before the year 2017, the students of the state had to go to other states and abroad for a medical degree, today they are getting the facility to study medicine in the state itself. This has not only removed the shortage of doctors in the state as compared to earlier, but there has also been a comprehensive improvement in health services.
It is the result of CM Yogi’s consistent efforts that the number of medical colleges in the state has doubled in comparison to the last seven and a half years. At present, 78 medical colleges are operating in the state, whereas in the year 2017 their number was only 39. Similarly, in the last seven and a half years in the state, there has been an increase of 108 percent in MBBS seats and 181 percent in PG seats.
