Lucknow: Governor of Uttar Pradesh Anandiben Patel distributed 223 Anganwadi pre-school kits in a program organized at Hind Medical College in Barabanki district.
In his address at the program organized on this occasion, the Governor mentioned the important role of Anganwadi workers in the upliftment of the society and described the significant increase in institutional deliveries in the district as an important step towards modern society.
He directed to contribute to the development of nutrition and education of children for the progress and upliftment of children so that a new and strong India can be built. The Governor praised the innovation done in the district under the campaign ‘Swasth Mool, Suposhit Phool’, after distribution of nutrition kits (peanut bar, ragi biscuits, dry foods) to 400 anaemic pregnant women, and after continuous consumption of the same, 349 pregnant women became anaemia free and witnessed healthy delivery, and said that this will bring positive change in the society.
The Governor stressed on increasing the participation of children in the organization of such programs and said that this awakens self-confidence in children and also gives them an opportunity to learn. He said that the government is committed to the overall development of children. All parents should raise their children with positive thinking and in a creative way.
On this occasion, the State’s Women Welfare, Child Development and Nutrition Minister Smt. Baby Rani Maurya, State Minister for Food, Logistics and Civil Supplies Shri Satish Chandra Sharma, District Magistrate and public representatives were present.
