Mumbai: New Zealand men’s Test team captain Tim Southee has said that India’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has performed brilliantly in all three formats. He has performed even better after returning from a back injury. The Indian fast bowling leader was away from the game for about 11 months due to injury.
Bumrah is the world’s best all-format bowler
Southee is the second cricket star after Australian legend Ricky Ponting to describe Bumrah as the world’s best all-format bowler. Bumrah, who returned fully fit in the ODI World Cup last year, took 20 wickets and took 19 wickets in four Tests against England earlier this year. After this, in the T20 World Cup in June, he took 15 wickets at an economy rate of 4.17 and became the Player of the Tournament and played an important role in the team’s title win.
Jasprit Bumrah has become more dangerous than before
“He has definitely been incredible, first of all he has come back from his injury. Interestingly, he has become even better than before. Playing in multiple formats is difficult and he can do it easily,” said Saurabh during the Cricket Rating Awards show in Mumbai.
“He is probably a little more experienced than others. He understands his game better. When he was away from the game due to injury, he worked hard and came back afresh. I think we have seen Jasprit Bumrah’s brilliant performance in all three formats. He is brilliant in all three formats at the moment. I don’t think there is anyone better than him, he is tremendous in all three formats.”
