Agra: The much-anticipated Taj Mahotsav-2025 is set to be held from February 18 to March 2, showcasing a vibrant confluence of Indian art, culture, and heritage. Artisans from across the country will gather to exhibit their craftsmanship, drawing domestic and international tourists alike.

Uttar Pradesh’s Tourism and Culture Minister, Jaiveer Singh, announced the event and highlighted its significance in promoting Indian culture and tourism. He noted that the Taj Mahotsav has been a major attraction for both domestic and foreign visitors, and this year’s themes promise to make the festival even more special.

The 2025 edition will feature unique themes such as “Symphony of Sounds” (celebrating India’s diverse musical traditions), “Digital Desi” (melding tradition with modern technology), and “Colors of India” (showcasing a vibrant mix of festivals). These themes aim to strike a balance between tradition and modernity.

A Celebration of Indian Heritage

The festival, which started in 1992, has become a key event on India’s tourism calendar. Held every spring, it transforms Agra into a hub of art, music, and festivity. This year, around 400 artisans will showcase their crafts, including intricate wood carvings, marble inlay work, and handmade textiles.

Cultural performances remain a highlight of the festival, with folk music, classical dance, and contemporary acts enchanting audiences. Visitors will also enjoy a special food zone offering local delicacies and street food from Agra and other states. For families, there will be swings and fun rides.

Multiple Venues Across Agra

The Taj Mahotsav will be held at various locations, including Shilpgram Parking, Sadar Bazaar, the “I Love Agra” selfie point, Fatehpur Sikri, and Soor Sadan. Each venue will offer a unique experience, blending Agra’s rich cultural heritage with the festival’s lively atmosphere.

To ensure a smooth experience, the Taj Mahotsav Committee has roped in multiple agencies for planning and management.

Boosting Tourism and Culture

Minister Jaiveer Singh emphasized that Agra’s three UNESCO World Heritage Sites and its historical significance make it a prime tourist destination. Events like Taj Mahotsav not only celebrate Indian art and culture but also provide a significant boost to tourism in the region.

The festival offers an unparalleled platform to experience India’s artistic and cultural diversity while celebrating the timeless allure of the Taj Mahal.
