State Bank Employees Hold Protest in Lucknow, Nationwide Strike Planned for May 25–26

Lucknow: Employees of the State Bank of India staged a strong demonstration outside the bank’s main branch in Lucknow on Monday in support of their pending demands. The protest was organised following a call by the All India State Bank of India Staff Federation.

The demonstration was led by divisional president Ajay Pandey and general secretary Dr. D.K. Singh, with employees raising slogans and demanding immediate action on several service-related issues.

Employees Raise Recruitment and Service Issues

Addressing the gathering, Dr. D.K. Singh said the employees are demanding recruitment of messengers and armed guards, adequate staff appointments, and an end to outsourcing in permanent posts. He also called for giving National Pension System (NPS) employees the option to change fund managers and ensuring parity in wages and service conditions.

The federation further demanded improvements in the medical reimbursement scheme, resolution of pension-related anomalies, and early redressal of issues linked to the Human Resource Management System (HRMS).

Several union leaders and office-bearers addressed the protest, including Avdhesh Singh, R.P. Singh, Ashutosh Verma, Tarkeshwar Chauhan, Brijesh Kumar Tiwari, Akash Sharma, Ankur Agrawal, Rakesh Kumar, Deependra Kumar, and Satish Shukla.

A large number of employees and members from different branches participated in the protest and sit-in demonstration.

Black Mask Protest on May 12

Media in-charge Anil Tiwari said that all employees would wear black masks while working on May 12 as a symbolic protest.

He further stated that if no permanent solution emerges during the scheduled talks on May 13, State Bank employees across the country will go on a two-day nationwide strike on May 25 and 26.
