Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government, under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, is strengthening its commitment to youth empowerment through skill development and employment. To connect ITI students with industry-driven opportunities, a state-wide placement drive will now be held on the 21st of every month, announced Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, Kapil Dev Agarwal, during a review meeting at the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission headquarters in Lucknow.
The initiative aims to link youth with jobs and self-employment opportunities, supporting the state’s goal of contributing to India’s “One Trillion Dollar Economy” vision. Major companies like Subros Ltd., Havells, Dixon Technologies, Pepsico, and Sona BLW have already recruited ITI graduates through this program, with Deloitte India facilitating corporate participation.

Agarwal also emphasized industry visits, Centers of Excellence, and real-time updates on the Skill Mitra portal, ensuring training aligns with market needs. The government is partnering with organizations like ASDC, FFSC, and Gyan Dairy, with Centers of Excellence being established in Noida, Gorakhpur, and Saharanpur to boost the “Vocal for Local” and “Skill India” missions.
