Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh will echo with the message of unity and national harmony on October 31 as the state observes the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel with a grand ‘Run for Unity’ across all districts and police commissionerates.
The event, scheduled from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., aims to strengthen citizens’ commitment to the ideals of national integration and collective spirit. According to Inspector General (Law and Order) L.R. Kumar, the initiative will see enthusiastic participation from police personnel, students, NCC cadets, scouts, social workers, and local citizens.
Participants carrying the Tricolour will raise patriotic slogans as they run through routes marked between 1 to 1.5 kilometres from each police station or headquarters. Adequate arrangements, including barricading, route markings, and security, are being ensured for smooth conduct.
The event will also feature prominent athletes and public figures, symbolising the state’s collective tribute to the Iron Man of India and his enduring vision of a united nation.
