Lucknow : Police in Lucknow’s Nagaram area have uncovered a shocking murder case, where a man allegedly killed his wife and tried to disguise it as a road accident. In a swift operation, police arrested the husband along with his accomplice. Authorities also recovered the murder weapon (a wooden stick), as well as the deceased’s broken bangles and bracelet.
The Murder Unveiled
On March 18, 2025, Rajaram, a local resident, filed a report at Nagaram police station stating that his niece Malti, who was married to Tilakram, son of Nanhkau, about 15 years ago, had died under suspicious circumstances. According to Rajaram, Tilakram had been subjecting Malti to domestic abuse ever since their marriage.
Background and Crime Details
On the night of March 16, 2025, Tilakram conspired with his friend Rajesh Prajapati to murder Malti. Under the pretext of visiting the Kubhara fair, Tilakram took Malti out of the house. Later, in a secluded area, she was brutally beaten to death. Considering the severity of the incident, police registered an FIR and launched an intensive investigation.
Arrests and Seizures
Acting promptly, the police formed three teams and arrested Tilakram and Rajesh Prajapati on March 19 from Akantakheda crossing in the Samaisi area under Nagaram police limits. Upon interrogation and at their direction, police recovered the wooden stick used in the crime, as well as Malti’s broken bangles and bracelet from the scene.
During questioning, Tilakram confessed to the crime, revealing that he suspected Malti of having an illicit relationship with another man. Driven by suspicion and jealousy, he plotted the murder with Rajesh’s help.
How the Murder Was Planned
- On March 16 at around 7 PM, Tilakram lured Malti out of the house under the guise of visiting the Kubhara fair and then stopping by her aunt’s home.
- Rajesh followed them on his scooter.
- After enjoying the fair, the three went to Malti’s aunt’s house for dinner.
- While returning, the duo borrowed a stick under the excuse of needing protection against animals.
- Rajesh had already selected a deserted spot near Akantakheda for the crime.
- Around 11 PM, they reached the jungle near Akantakheda. Rajesh stood watch while Tilakram attacked Malti repeatedly with the stick.
- Once they were certain she was dead, Tilakram called his relative Santosh, claiming he had been in an accident.
- Santosh arrived with a vehicle, and the two accused took Malti to New Relief Private Hospital in Samaisi, where she was declared dead during treatment.
