Seminar on Women’s Empowerment Held at Rohilkhand University

Bareilly: A thought-provoking seminar and interactive session on the theme “Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam: Empowered Women, Empowered Nation” was successfully organised by the Department of Ancient History and Culture at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University.

The event was held under the inspiration of the Vice-Chancellor and witnessed the esteemed presence of Dean Dr. Vijay Bahadur Singh Yadav. In his address, he encouraged students to actively engage in academic discussions and highlighted the importance of such intellectual platforms in shaping informed perspectives.

Head of the Department, Dr. Priya Saxena, spoke about the significant and गौरवपूर्ण role of women in Indian tradition. She noted that women have contributed across diverse fields—from composing Vedic hymns to participating in governance and even playing key roles in constitution-making—demonstrating their enduring strength and influence.

Dr. Ruchi Dwivedi from the Department of Economics served as the judge for the competition and motivated participants with her insights on the contemporary relevance of women’s empowerment and inclusive development.

Students participated enthusiastically, presenting their views with confidence and clarity. In the competition, MA First Year student Shraddha Sharma secured the first position, while Shivani Kashyap and Parineeta Singh jointly secured second place. Julie Sharma stood third. MA Second Year student Deepanshu Deep, who recently participated in a National Youth Parliament event, also delivered a noteworthy address.

Several other students, including Shweta Sharma, Lalita Singh, Deepak Maurya, Mohit Sharma, Lavi Sharma, Dipanshu Sharma, Pallavi Bharti, Shivam Gangwar, Sabia B, Suchi Mishra, Khushnaaz, Bhagyashree, and Ruchi, actively contributed to the discussion.

Faculty members Dr. Pawan Kumar Singh, Dr. Alok Kumar, Dr. Pinki Gupta, and Dr. Mohit Mishra were also present. The programme was anchored by Dr. Pinki Gupta, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Mohit Mishra.

The seminar concluded with an expression of gratitude to all participants and guests. The event proved to be a meaningful platform for intellectual growth and reinforced the vision of building a strong nation through empowered women.
