Kiev: After a historic visit of about seven to eight hours to Ukraine, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for his destination from the capital Kiev. The air distance from Kiev to New Delhi is about 4540 km and the flight time is 6 hours 55 minutes. This visit was special in the sense that this was the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Kiev after the independence of Ukraine. Ukrainian President Zelensky has admitted that if India changes its stance, the war with Russia can end.
PM Modi came via Pakistan while returning to India
Prime Minister Narendra Modi used Pakistan’s airspace while returning from Poland. Pakistani media house Dawn has given this information quoting an official of the Civil Aviation Authority there. According to the report, Prime Minister Modi remained in Pakistan’s airspace for 46 minutes. His plane reached Amritsar via Lahore and Islamabad. According to sources, his plane entered Pakistan’s airspace at 10:15 am and remained there till 11:01 am.
According to sources, during this time Pakistan’s airspace was open for commercial use of Indian aircraft. India has not said anything on this matter yet. The Prime Minister’s plane does not require special permission.
However, in some cases, the Prime Minister’s plane has to be given special signals. Reportedly after the Balakot air strike, Pakistan had banned commercial flights. But later it was opened.
Appealed to Russia for peace before Ukraine
Prime Minister Modi, before leaving from Kiev, proposed to Russia and Ukraine to come to the negotiating table. This visit of Prime Minister Modi has taken place exactly six weeks after his visit to Russia. Modi had also appealed to Russian President Putin to bring peace in the war through talks. Now it is believed that on his appeal both the countries can reach the threshold of talks.
According to the Press Information Bureau (PIB) of the Government of India, Prime Minister Modi interacted with Ukrainian students learning Hindi language at the School of Oriental Studies in Kiev. The Prime Minister appreciated the intelligence of the students and their contribution in promoting mutual understanding between the people of the two countries.
Along with this, Prime Minister Modi gifted four ‘Bhishma (India Health Cooperation, Interest and Friendship Initiative) Cubes’ to the Government of Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the Prime Minister for humanitarian assistance. ‘Bhishma Cubes’ will help in quick treatment of the injured and will also make a significant contribution in saving precious lives.
