Ayodhya: Amid ongoing discussions surrounding the Ram Temple offering controversy, Nripendra Mishra, Chairman of the Ram Temple Construction Committee, has stated that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted to probe the matter is expected to submit its preliminary report within a week.
Speaking to the media at the Circuit House in Ayodhya on Saturday, Mishra provided updates on both the investigation and the ongoing development works at the Ram Mandir Ayodhya.
He said the government acted swiftly after the issue came to light, forming the SIT within 24 hours. The investigation panel comprises three senior officials and has been tasked with conducting a comprehensive inquiry into the matter. According to Mishra, the team has been directed to submit a preliminary report within seven days, while the final report is expected within 15 days. Further action will be taken based on the findings and recommendations of the committee.
Security Infrastructure Being Strengthened
Highlighting the ongoing development of the Ram Temple complex, Mishra said significant efforts are underway to enhance security and visitor facilities. A modern boundary wall stretching nearly four kilometres is being constructed around the temple premises to strengthen security arrangements.
In addition, 25 watchtowers are being built around the complex as part of the security infrastructure. The project is being executed through Engineers India Limited and is targeted for completion by August 2026.

Facade Lighting and Museum Project Progressing
Mishra also informed that work on the temple’s façade lighting system is progressing rapidly and is expected to become operational by August 15. The lighting project aims to further enhance the grandeur and visual appeal of the temple complex.
Providing an update on the proposed Ram Katha Museum, he said scripts for all 20 galleries have been completed and development work is moving forward as planned. The museum is expected to showcase the life, teachings, and cultural significance of Lord Ram through immersive exhibits and modern presentation techniques.
A Global Centre of Faith and Culture
Emphasizing the broader vision behind the project, Mishra stated that the Ram Temple is evolving beyond its role as a religious shrine and is emerging as a global centre of Indian culture, heritage, and faith. He noted that extensive plans are being implemented to improve security, visitor amenities, and cultural engagement within the temple precincts.
The forthcoming SIT reports are now expected to play a crucial role in bringing clarity to the offering-related controversy while development activities at the temple complex continue at a rapid pace.
