Varanasi: Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will hold a roadshow in Varanasi on May 25 in support of the party’s Lok Sabha candidate and state Congress president Ajay Rai.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is contesting from the high-profile Varanasi seat for the third consecutive time.
Ajay Rai said on Wednesday, “Yes, Priyanka Gandhi will campaign and will hold a roadshow in Varanasi on May 25.”
Rai has been campaigning vigorously here for the past few days.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is among the star campaigners of the Congress. Like her brother Rahul and other senior party leaders, she is also campaigning in various states.
She also campaigned in Rae Bareli recently, from where Rahul Gandhi is a candidate. In Amethi, she campaigned for K.L. Sharma.
Varanasi will go to polls on June 1 in the seventh and final phase.
