‘25 Years of Public Service — Seva Sankalp’ Programme Held in Gonda

Gonda: A special programme was organised at the Commissioner’s Office of Devipatan Division under the theme “25 Years of Public Service — Seva Sankalp” on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.

The programme was inaugurated by Devipatan Divisional Commissioner Durga Shakti Nagpal, who ceremonially lit around 1,100 lamps. Officials and employees renewed their commitment to carrying out their responsibilities with a spirit of service and dedication, creating a positive and motivational atmosphere on the premises.

Nagpal said the core objective of public service was to ensure that government facilities and welfare schemes reach every section of society. She said officials and employees serve as an important link between the administration and the public and must discharge their duties with sensitivity, transparency, honesty and dedication.

She directed officials to ensure quality and time-bound disposal of grievances received during public hearings, provide eligible beneficiaries access to welfare schemes and implement development projects effectively. She stressed that people should not have to make unnecessary visits to government offices and that their problems should be resolved effectively at the local level.

The Commissioner said the true meaning of public service is realised only when administrative efforts benefit the person at the last mile. She urged officials to give priority to the concerns of needy people and ensure prompt resolution in accordance with rules.

She further said transparency, accountability and public participation form the foundation of good governance. Departments should work in coordination, regularly review development and welfare schemes and resolve implementation-related issues within stipulated timelines.

Officials and employees present at the programme took a pledge to make public service their highest priority, address citizens’ concerns sensitively and ensure that government welfare schemes reach all eligible beneficiaries.

Additional Commissioners Meenu Rana and Rajesh Kumar, Joint Development Commissioner Rakesh Kumar Pandey and other officials and employees were present.
