Ayodhya: The Ayodhya Police have provided major relief to victims of cyber fraud by recovering a total of ₹15.55 lakh in two separate cases of online scams. The swift action demonstrates the efficiency of the cybercrime branch in tackling online fraud.
In the first case, a victim was duped of ₹11 lakh under the pretext of purchasing goods online. Acting on the instructions of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), a special team led by Cyber Crime Station Officer Arshad Khan was formed. Following a court order, the team successfully recovered the entire amount of ₹11 lakh and credited it back to the victim’s account.
In the second case, fraudsters posed as telecom company officials and blackmailed the victim by threatening to falsely implicate them in money laundering and the creation of fake bank accounts. The victim was scammed out of ₹4.55 lakh. Under the guidance of the Superintendent of Police (SP) and Circle Officer (CO) Sadar, the cybercrime team acted promptly and managed to recover ₹4 lakh, which was returned to the victim.
Both victims expressed their gratitude to the police for their timely intervention and swift recovery of their funds. These incidents highlight the proactive approach and effectiveness of the Ayodhya Police in combating cyber fraud and delivering justice to victims.
