Agra, India – The Director-General of Mongolia’s Border Security Directorate, Sharhu Lkhachinjav, visited the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, marveling at the intricate craftsmanship and rich history of the Mughal-era monuments. He appeared deeply engrossed in the beauty of the Taj Mahal and inquired about its exquisite inlay work and historical significance.
According to tourism ministry guide Mohammad Rashid, Lkhachinjav arrived in Agra on Tuesday evening. On Wednesday morning, at around 9:15 AM, he visited the Taj Mahal, spending over an hour at the site. The stunning inlay work on the marble structure left him in awe. He actively engaged in discussions about the craftsmanship and the monument’s historical background.
Following the Taj Mahal visit, the Mongolian official proceeded to Agra Fort, where he expressed keen interest in the red sandstone architecture and the fort’s historical relevance. He was accompanied by officers from the Border Security Force (BSF) during the tour.
After completing his visit to Agra, Lkhachinjav departed for Delhi in the afternoon. He had arrived in India on February 2, where he was welcomed by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in New Delhi.
The visit reflects the growing diplomatic and cultural ties between India and Mongolia, reinforcing mutual interest in history, heritage, and security cooperation.
