Lucknow: In a major victory for the ongoing campaign to curb cyber crimes, the Lucknow Police have successfully recovered ₹99,892 from a fraudster involved in an online scam. The operation was carried out under the guidance of Shri Joint Police Commissioner, Shri Police Deputy Commissioner (Crime), and Assistant Police Commissioner Sana Kaim, with supervision from the in-charge of the Cyber Crime Cell.
The case began when the complainant, identified as Mr. Mithran, reported an incident where a fraudster posing as a representative from a labor card scheme contacted him via a phone call. The fraudster convinced the complainant to share personal details for processing the scheme, including PM card information. Subsequently, ₹99,892 was siphoned from the complainant’s account.
Upon receiving the complaint, the Cyber Crime Cell, led by Inspector Shri Anand Kumar Dwivedi, initiated swift action. They contacted the concerned bank and froze the suspicious accounts, following proper legal procedures. As a result, the full amount of ₹99,892 was successfully recovered and returned to the complainant’s account.
The complainant expressed deep gratitude towards the Cyber Crime Branch and commended the police team’s prompt action in handling the case.
