Lucknow East Police Returns 111 Lost Mobiles Worth ₹22 Lakh, Doubles Diwali Happiness

LUCKNOW: The Lucknow Police East Zone team brought immense relief and smiles to the faces of city residents just before Diwali by successfully recovering and returning a large batch of lost mobile phones. The operation, led by the East Zone Surveillance Cell, marks a significant success in community policing ahead of the festive season.

A total of 111 lost mobile phones were tracked down and recovered by the dedicated surveillance team. The estimated total value of the recovered devices is approximately ₹22 lakh.

DCP East Personally Hands Over Devices

The recovered mobile phones were officially handed over to their rightful owners by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) East, Shashank Singh, himself.

The sight of their returned phones brought immediate happiness to the owners. Many expressed their gratitude, noting how the police action had effectively doubled their joy right before the festival of Diwali.

Surveillance Cell’s Achievement

The achievement highlights the dedicated work of the East Zone Surveillance Cell, which utilized technical resources to trace the lost devices. The successful recovery of over a hundred phones in a concentrated effort demonstrates the police force’s commitment to prioritizing the retrieval of lost property and enhancing public satisfaction.

A grateful resident stated: “We had lost all hope, but the police have brought back our happiness just in time for Diwali. We are very thankful to the Lucknow Police.”

DCP Shashank Singh emphasized the police’s commitment to citizen welfare, stating that bringing smiles to the faces of the people is a priority, especially during the festive season.
