LUCKNOW | The Lucknow Police Commissionerate demonstrated a profound commitment to women’s safety and child protection by holding a comprehensive awareness campaign under Mission Shakti Phase 5.0. The event, guided by the inspiring motto, “Children’s Rights, Children’s Honour, Mission Childhood Blooms, Every Child Blossoms, This World Changes with Mission Shakti,” focused on critical safety education for women and primary school students in the Saipur Police Station area.
Focus on Good Touch and Bad Touch
A key component of the special program, organized in Gram Saidaipur and Primary School Gram Mubarakpur, was a detailed session on Good Touch and Bad Touch. Approximately 100 students, teachers, and local women participated, receiving essential knowledge on recognizing appropriate versus inappropriate physical contact.
The children were taught how to identify safe and unsafe touch and were strongly instructed to immediately notify family members, teachers, or police officials in any uncomfortable situation. This effort was aimed at significantly increasing safety awareness and fostering confidence among the children, allowing them to remain vigilant in objectionable circumstances. The session was positively received, with children even sharing their aspirations and dreams, a signal that a trusting and safe environment had been successfully established.
Police Leadership and Operational Structure
The awareness drive was conducted under the direct supervision of Police Commissioner Shri Amarendra Kumar Senger, who has directed the immediate and effective resolution of all issues faced by women reported at police stations.
The program at Saidaipur/Mubarakpur was spearheaded by:

- Anamika Singh, Woman Sub-Inspector and In-charge of the Mission Shakti Team, Saipur.
- Sub-Inspector Ghanshyam Gautam, Saipur Police Station.
- The Mission Shakti and Anti-Romeo Squad Teams of Saipur Police Station.
In line with the mandate of Mission Shakti 5.0 across the Commissionerate, 54 Mission Shakti Centres have been established in Lucknow, each staffed by a dedicated team comprising one Inspector, one Additional Inspector, one Sub-Inspector, and one Woman Sub-Inspector to ensure swift response to women’s concerns.
Comprehensive Safety and Empowerment Education
Beyond child safety, the special awareness session provided crucial information on the mechanisms available for security and support:
- Helpline Services: Detailed knowledge was shared regarding crucial emergency and assistance numbers, including 1090 (Women Helpline), 112 (Emergency Service), and the Cyber Security Helpline 1930.
- Security Mechanisms: Attendees were briefed on the functions of the Mahila Suraksha Kendra/Mission Shakti Kendra, Pink Booths, and the work of the Anti-Romeo Squad.
- Cyber Crime: Warnings and advice were issued on protecting oneself from increasing cyber fraud.
- Empowerment: A strong focus was placed on making girls aware of their potential and encouraging them to become self-reliant for their future success.
The organizers concluded that the session proved highly meaningful and successful, providing a strong foundation for the children’s personal safety knowledge and demonstrating a commendable step by the school and police towards holistic development and emotional empowerment. The Lucknow Commissionerate confirmed that similar safety and awareness programs will continue in the future.
