Children’s Literature Takes Center Stage with Enthusiastic Readers

Lucknow: The ongoing Lucknow Book Fair at Ravindralaya Charbagh, which began yesterday and will continue until March 9, witnessed a remarkable turnout of book lovers, especially children accompanied by their parents. The fair’s theme—Children’s Literature—was well-received, with young readers flocking to stalls dedicated to children’s books.

The Children’s Book Trust stall, one of the most meticulously arranged sections at the fair, introduced ten brand-new books, including Kiki Aur Piklu Ki Lukachhupi, Kitna Lamba Hota Hai Ek Minute, Chhotu Dekha Nahin Dekha, Tenzin Ke Yak, Do Ka Dum, Yeh Khatola Kiska Hai, Raja Ki Dawat, Rona Bura Nahin, and Laal Bus. A vast selection of illustrated and storybooks in English was also available. The Trust plans to establish fun zones for children in major cities across the country. Additionally, a free postcard coloring competition was organized at the stall, open to children aged 6 to 16.

Stall No. 44, featuring Geeta Press Gorakhpur publications, displayed a collection of inspirational books for children. Other publishers, such as Shubhi Publications, Hind Yugm, Jaico Publishing, and Nikhil Publishers, showcased literature catering to young readers. Alongside books, the fair also featured engaging puzzles and toy stalls.

The literary stage of Nikhil Publications hosted the book launch of Khula Pitara Suno Kahani—a collection of children’s stories by Dr. Ruchi Srivastava—and Mutthi Bhar Muskaan, a humor and satire compilation, under the chairmanship of veteran theater artist Gopal Sinha. Guests Vinay Srivastava, Dr. Meera Dixit, Alka Pramod, and Neelam Rakesh shared their insights at the event.
