Lucknow: The 21st National Book Fair organized on the theme of ‘Kakori incident’ will be dedicated to the martyrs. The fair is being organized jointly by KT Foundation and Force One Books from 27th September to 6th October in Balrampur Garden Ashok Marg.
Convenor Manoj Singh Chandel informed in a press conference about this 10-day book fair which will run from 11 am to 9 pm every day with free entry that this year is the centenary year of Kakori incident.
Hundred years ago, the incident of looting of treasure in Lucknow by revolutionaries like Azad, Ramprasad Bismil, Ashfaqulla Khan, Roshan Singh, Rajendra Lahiri, Sachindra Bakshi shook the foundations of the British rule. With this theme, in the twenty-first National Book Fair, we will remember the great heroes of independence through cultural presentations.
A large number of English, Hindi and Urdu language publishers, distributors and importers from across the country are participating in the fair, which has made its place among the top 10 book fairs of the country. New publishers coming to the fair include Geeta Press of Gorakhpur, which celebrated its centenary year last year, Unbound Script and Vardhman Book of Delhi, Flydream Publications of Indore, Shubhi Prakashan of Gurugram, Future Solutions of Prayagraj and Navpallav Books of Lucknow.
Book release, meet the authors, kavi sammelan, mushaira, youth and children’s programs will be organized in this book festival. Thousands of school children, teachers, writers, officers, housewives and book lovers eagerly wait for the book fair. Social and cultural activities are a special attraction during the book fair. He said that this book fair is organized with the aim of spreading the light of knowledge and encouraging the habit of reading which is decreasing these days.
Fair director Aakarsh Chandel said that as usual there will be free entry and book lovers will be given a minimum discount of 10 percent. He also talked about the never-ending benefits of books in the virtual world. Books are considered the best friend and have been playing an important role in the development of society for centuries. A 15 thousand square feet waterproof German hangar has been installed for the display of books.
Rajkamal, Vani, Prabhat, Rajpal and Sons, Sasta Sahitya Mandal, Setu Publications, Samyak Publications, Gautam Book Center, Publication Institute, Nayi Kitab Publications, Ritesh Book, Rishabh Book, Rishi Publications, Nayyar Book, Bhartiya Kala Prakashan, Universal Book, Goodword Books, Arun Books, Yashika Enterprises, Educational Miracle, Educational and Scientific Aids, Padma Book, Shivangi Book, Books and Sons, Aditi Book, Mind Power Educational, National Council Urdu and Publication Department, Jai Book from Mumbai, Shridhupteshwar from Jaipur, Mehta Book from Patna, Vidhi Books from Ahmedabad, Hind Yugam from Noida, New Book from Ghaziabad, Nikhil Publishers from Agra, Angel Book from Raipur are coming to the fair. At the local level, there will be stalls of Uttar Pradesh Hindi Sansthan, Uttar Pradesh Urdu Academy, Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Sansthan, Bodhras Prakashan, Dalit Sahitya, Divyansh Publications, Ramakrishna Math Yogada Satsang, Rashtradharma Prakashan, Hindi Vangmay Nidhi, Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, E Local Shop, Gayatri Gyan Mandir, Being Bookish, Ahmadiya Community, The Real Mark, Subhash Pustak Bhandar, Raju Stickers, Devendra Books etc.
Apart from this, there will also be stalls of Kolkata, Kannauj and Gideons International. Measures have been taken to ensure safe and comfortable access of book lovers. Local authors get free stalls to display and sell their books. Startup Lit Fest will be special on Gandhi Jayanti. There will also be children’s programs in the book fair. A unique event this year is the Startup lit Fest on 2nd October in collaboration with Startup Trak which will delve deeper into the ecosystem through Business and Literature. To create a unique platform where entrepreneurship meets literature, fostering innovation, growth, and collaboration.
One-to-one discussion, Book Launch and insights from Successful Entrepreneurs, Special session on Women entrepreneurs promises to be a one of a kind experience.
A special stage for young readers, fun activities aimed at nurturing a love for reading from an early age will also e organized.
Alongside the literary events, attendees will enjoy performances celebrating the country’s rich cultural heritage, including poetry recitals, and dance.

Director, Aakarsh Chandel informed that a. German Hanger has been installed for the display of thousands of titles from leading publishers. Local Writer’s stall will also be there for Free Display and Sale of books for Local Writers.
The event is being organized in association with Radio City, Vijay Studio, Bubchic. Origins, Star Technologies, Vishwam Foundation, Retrobee, Magazine Partners City Essence, and Trade Mitra.
