Toronto: The tension between India and Canada is not subsiding. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau himself has got trapped in the case of accusing India after the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. In fact, now the situation has come to such a pass that he has to call the officials of his own intelligence agency criminals.
Trudeau has called his officials criminals for sharing false information in the case of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. In a report of a reputed Canadian newspaper ‘The Globe and Mail’, an article was published linking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in the controversy of Nijjar’s murder.
‘Media is constantly publishing wrong stories’
After this, Justin Trudeau has given a statement in the case of leaking information in the media after a fake report related to the death of Hardeep Singh Nijjar came to light. Addressing a rally, Justin Trudeau said, “Unfortunately we have seen that those criminals leaked secret information to the media. The media is constantly publishing wrong stories.”
‘National investigation launched’
Justin Trudeau further said, it is wrong for criminals to leak information to the media. The Canadian PM said, “A national investigation has been launched to prevent foreign interference. It has revealed that criminals are leaking secret information to the media.” “My primary job as a Canadian leader is to keep Canadians safe. Everything we have done over the last few years and in many difficult situations has been focused on keeping Canadians safe here and across the country and making sure that we stand up for the rule of law.”
The Trudeau government rejected the report
The report had quoted an unnamed security official as claiming that “Canadian security agencies believe PM Modi knew about Nijjar’s murder”. The Canadian government later clarified that the controversial report linking Modi to Nijjar’s murder was “fictional and inaccurate.”
