Lucknow: Independence Day will be celebrated with patriotic fervour at Amrit Sarovars across Uttar Pradesh, with the Tricolour to be hoisted at every such water body under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has directed officials of the Rural Development Department to ensure that Independence Day is celebrated across the state with enthusiasm, participation and a festive spirit.
Following his directions, necessary instructions have been issued to districts to begin preparations in advance and organise programmes that ensure widespread public participation in the celebrations.
As part of this year’s Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, flag-hoisting ceremonies will be organised at all Amrit Sarovar sites developed and renovated in village panchayats across Uttar Pradesh.
The Deputy Chief Minister has instructed officials to ensure that the Amrit Sarovars are thoroughly cleaned before the flag-hoisting ceremonies. Gram panchayats have been directed to conduct special cleanliness drives at the sites ahead of Independence Day.
Alongside the flag-hoisting ceremonies, officials have been asked to organise patriotic and nation-building programmes at the Amrit Sarovars to create greater awareness about India’s freedom struggle, national unity and the significance of Independence Day.
The initiative is intended to transform village-level water bodies into community spaces for celebrating the national festival while also promoting cleanliness and public participation.
The Rural Development Department has stressed that active participation by local residents, elected representatives, officials and community organisations will be essential for making the celebrations successful.
The Commissioner, Rural Development Department, has issued detailed directions to district-level officials regarding preparations and implementation of the programmes.
The celebrations at Amrit Sarovars are expected to bring together rural communities across Uttar Pradesh in a common expression of patriotism, while combining the themes of national pride, cleanliness, community participation and rural development under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
