Mumbai: Many individuals, agencies or States are getting benefitted in the raging wars or conflicts worldwide, while those involved and not involved are losing their life, livelihood, families, homes and lands. In the last few years of unabated wars between Russia-Ukraine, Israel –Palestine (Lebanon too) thousands of innocents have perished unnecessarily. The socio-economic plundering of these nations has recently crossed over 6.2 billion dollars and the destruction/ displacement and suffering of lakhs of innocent civilians is beyond imagination.
Warmongers are ON big time and yielding desired results. Their wicked cycle of “production-testing-destruction- construction- production-testing”, is running smoothly at the cost of millions of lives. These are those evil visionaries, who are pushing to ignite fighting, employing tactics to justify conflicts, manipulating public opinion for starting attacks orwars and maintaining their agendas to profit from these hostilities through the above cycle. While we all know that modern warfare has escalated beyond conventional battles, encompassing hi-tech nuclear, biological, and other technological elements, it really does not matter to the warmongers. Their mean objectives are beyond human miseries and sufferings.
Some common behaviours and actionsused by Warmongers are:
1. The warmongers always amplify or fabricate external threats to instil fear among population and the society at large. They also gain public support for warby portraying certain nations, groups, or ideologies as existential dangers to their interests. Hence, such crafting of propaganda and fear-mongering easily leads towards manufacturing of almost real threats. They put their might to disseminate all kinds of incorrect information to demonise opponents to build deep hatred and thereafter justify immediate violence against them.
2. Warmongers are extremely interested in profiteering from wars. Be it the arms and ammunition defense industry, construction industry (buildings, dams, roads and infrastructure repair) or even the pharmaceutical industries, all get involved in warzones sooner or later.Warmongers push for military interventions to benefit these corporations, regardless of the human cost.Wars are usually waged under the façade of liberation, freedom or security, but are motivated by getting access to valuable resources like oil, minerals, water bodies or strategic territories.
- The warmongers get deeply involved in manipulating patriotism to rally public support, and believe in presenting only war as the final option and advocating that it is the personal duty of each individual to protect national honour or sovereignty.They tend to glorify war as highly noble cause, encouraging people to sacrifice their lives and resources.
4. Warmongers sometimes orchestrate or exaggerate attacks to justify heavy retaliation. Media manipulation ensures the narrative supports the war effort, limiting public access to alternative perspectives.Those who oppose war are often labelled as unpatriotic and traitors. All this is done to avoid dialogues debates and discussions to find alternative solutions.
- They frame wars as necessary interventions to stop human rights abuses or promote democracy, even when ulterior motives exist.
So, what can be done? To just say in a nutshell, by understanding these above listed tricks, being calm and evaluating multiple sources of information, education, social justice and empowerment, practices of stable, harmonious living, democratic discourses, balanced outlook to sustenance etc, societies can critically evaluate the narratives pushed by warmongers and advocate for peaceful resolutions to potential conflicts.Intelligent questioning, innovative solutions to mitigate the deep rooted agendas of warmongers will result in failures of their devious propaganda efforts and ultimate desires of initiating wars.
