Bareilly: In a landmark administrative action aimed at securing the interests of sugarcane farmers, the auction of the attached land belonging to Kesar Sugar Mill was successfully completed at the Baheri Tehsil Auditorium on Saturday. The auction was conducted strictly in accordance with government guidelines and legal provisions, marking a significant milestone in the long-pending effort to recover dues owed to farmers.
The proceedings were carried out in the presence of senior district officials, including the Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue), the Joint Magistrate/Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Baheri, the District Cane Officer, the Circle Officer of Police, and other concerned authorities. Representatives of farmers’ unions and members of the public were also present, ensuring transparency and public participation throughout the process.
The bidding was conducted openly by the designated Auction Officer and Tehsildar of Baheri. Following competitive bidding, the highest offer received for the attached property was ₹28.05 crore, which was formally recorded in accordance with the prescribed rules.
To maintain complete transparency and fairness, the entire auction process was monitored through CCTV surveillance and independently documented through videography and photography. Detailed records of each stage of the proceedings were maintained, and all eligible bidders were given an equal opportunity to participate in the auction as per the established norms.
Officials stated that the proceeds generated from the auction would be utilized to settle the outstanding sugarcane payments due from Kesar Sugar Mill. The move is expected to provide long-awaited relief to thousands of sugarcane farmers in the Baheri region who have been awaiting payment for their produce for an extended period.

The successful completion of the auction is being viewed as a major step toward protecting farmers’ interests and ensuring the recovery of pending dues. Administrative officials expressed confidence that the proceeds from the sale would significantly contribute to resolving the outstanding liabilities and strengthening trust among the farming community.
The action has been widely regarded as a historic development in the district, reflecting the administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and the welfare of farmers.
