ADM Reviews Communicable Disease Control and Dastak Campaign in Bareilly

Bareilly: A review meeting of the Special Communicable Disease Control Campaign and Dastak Abhiyan was held at the Collectorate auditorium under the chairmanship of Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Poornima Singh.

During the meeting, the ADM directed all Medical Officers In-Charge (MOICs) to ensure adequate arrangements in hospitals to tackle the ongoing heatwave, so that patients do not face inconvenience. She emphasized that cases of vector-borne diseases such as Dengue and Malaria are on the rise and are being closely monitored by the World Health Organization, making it essential to avoid any negligence.

Officials from concerned departments were instructed to prioritize sanitation measures, including regular cleaning of drains, bush cutting, anti-larval spraying, and fogging operations to prevent mosquito breeding. The ADM also directed that hand pumps supplying contaminated water be identified, marked with red signs, and that residents be made aware of the associated health risks.

Highlighting the importance of proper technique, she stated that workers engaged in anti-larval spraying must be adequately trained in correct dosage and application methods. MOICs were instructed to ensure such training sessions are conducted. Additionally, Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) were directed to ensure regular field visits by Anganwadi workers and ASHA personnel for effective monitoring.

The Basic Education Department was advised to encourage schoolchildren to wear full-sleeve clothing as a preventive measure. Officials were also instructed to ensure that field activity data of ASHA and Anganwadi workers is regularly updated on the e-Kavach portal.

The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vishram Singh, District Panchayati Raj Officer Kamal Kishore Pandey, all MOICs, and other concerned officials.

The review underscored the administration’s commitment to strengthening public health preparedness and ensuring effective implementation of disease control measures across the district.
